I just got the new Wisp and I love it. I have the Respirer, which works great. But this is even more efficient. No more drips, and the poor spout regulates the flow so no overfilling if you're not watching. I will be giving the Wisp as several Christmas gifts. I have owned a Respirer for the last year and love it!! The Flo Perfect pouring spout is a great addition for getting every last drop of wine into my glass with no mess. And I really like how the Respirer fits snug into the spout in between pouring. I'm very excited about the new system and packaging in time for holiday gifts. Most of my friends drink wine but have turned to lesser expensive bottles for now and using the Wisp Aerator System has really made a nice difference in the taste. Just received my new Wisp wine aeration system. After viewing a demo at a local wine tasting, I had to have this!



I have owned the Respirer wine aerator for several months now and use it at every opportunity. If you own one, then you know that it works and I'm certain that you enjoy using it as much as I do...but what impressed me about the Wisp is the new pouring spout. The spout controls the flow of wine so that you don't over-fill the aerator bowl...a certain problem after a few too many. Actually, the spout "enables the wine to pour from the bottle at the same rate as the aeration process," (as stated in the product description)....pretty cool! In addition...and this is my favorite part...the aerator can now "nest" in the Flo Perfect spout when not in use. No more drip after pouring, no more mess on my wife's dining room table...a problem that I'm certain you're familiar with if you own a hand-held aerator.



I love using this...can't imagine pouring wine without it now. Paid $39.95 for the stand-alone unit 8 months ago. Now, with the Wisp you get the aerator, the pouring spout, the display stand, carry bag, sediment filter, and cleaning brush for the same price....not bad! Respirer, which is French for breathe, was developed using engineering based on core scientific principles. It's better than a wine decanter. A beautifully crafted combination of art and science, Simply hold it over a glass and pour the wine through, mixing the proper amount of air in the right amount of time. The result is a better bouquet, richer flavor, and smoother finish.

How it Works:
When you pour  into the aerator the wine flows into a conditioning device called the VIC, (Vortex Impedance Control). It conditions the wine so that it doesn't swirl and it presents the wine to the proprietary pressure chamber in a consistent smooth flow. As the wine enters the pressure chamber, its downward flow caused by gravity increases, which creates a vacuum affect. This vacuum draws in air through the side air intake channel. At this point the real work begins.

Now the wine and air mixture exits the chamber and enters a tapered section of the fluid tube that increases fluid speed and further decreases the pressure in the tube. This decrease in pressure "tugs" on the air bubbles causing them to want to expand. So now we have the fluid-air mixture speeding up and the bubbles wanting to expand, however everything is being forced into a smaller and smaller cross-section.

While the bubbles expand as they encounter the reduced cross-section of tube the bubbles collide. and force the wine to be squeezed between each other resulting in a high degree of oxygenation. The collisions are often so extraordinary that they create fractures in the bubbles and they burst. The result is many smaller bubbles with much greater surface area touching and oxygenating the wine. Then wine passes through the diffuser, which causes turbulence, separation and further wine aeration. Finally the aerated wine flows and into your glass.

All this occurs in a blink of an eye. Pretty amazing. Enjoy!

The Respirer seemingly drips forever after each use. It can be placed in the bottle after use, but it is very unstable. The table top holder is very nice, but quickly fills with drips from the device. It works, and the mess is managable.

I have recently tried out the aerator for red wine, and think that there is no going back. While taste testing a wine that had been aerated, and a just opened bottle, I couldn't believe it! My palette was left clean and I could just enjoy the wine and not be left with an unpleasant taste. This even makes a cheap bottle of wine taste like twice its price.



I also love the shape of this. The fact that you can place it on top of a wine bottle after using to let you catch the wine left in the aerator and not let it go to waste is a great feature. Most aerators only can sit back into their stand, and then the wine drips into the stand.



If you enjoy red wine, this a wonderful addition to your bar set. You will not believe it until you try it out!

As a red wine drinker the Respirer has become a standard accessory on my kitchen bar. We have been using it for at least 11 months after seeing it at a Carlsbad wine shop. The recent addition of the drip less spout has made it even better; the Respirer now sits snug in the spout in between pouring leaving no mess. Fun to use and really makes a difference, we always taste test the wines before and after using the Respirer. I also like the fact that I can clean it in the dishwasher if needed. I take it when I travel and to restaurants using the enclosed pouch, which makes me think I need to purchase a second one!!! My friends have enjoyed receiving it as a gift and will certainly be on the Christmas gift list this year!!!

Really does work!
